Mid winter Lenten Greetings. Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God and our Savior and Savior of the world. He came to heal and redeem a fragmented world through the Holy Spirit. We participate in a movement for wholeness in this world that has needs for love, security, and food and water. Of late we have been helping with Loaves and fishes and Super Bowl of Caring along with Week of Compassion. It makes me happy to see our youth and children getting involved with the adults to share food and the good news of Jesus Christ.
This season leading up to Easter is for reflection and self examination so we might serve the Lord. I will be on Sabbatical for 90 days March 11- June 3 to rest, study preaching, and to do volunteer mission work rebuild Joplin. Scripture tells us to take a break each week on the Sabbath and sometimes every seven years of our work. (Leviticus 23:3 and Mark 2:28) But the church goes on serving through many people and in a rich variety of ways to bring wholeness to our world in Jesus' name. Come participate in any of our classes, study groups and singing groups, you are welcome to worship with us too. It's an honor to Pastor with you since 1988, almost 24 years this coming August. This is my prayer for you: "Startle us O God, with your truth, and open our hearts and our minds to your word, that in hearing we may believe, and believing trust our lives, this day and all the days that lie ahead, to your love in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."
Now go into the world in peace and courage. Hold to the Good. Honor all of God's children. Love and serve the LORD, rejoicing in the power and gentleness of the Holy Spirit. Let's love and honor God and love and bless all people.
